On April 8th local time, the Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Business stated at a press conference that the tariff policies announced by the US government so far will affect 80% of Spanish exports to the US, with an export value equivalent to approximately 14.9 billion euros.
Meanwhile, the minister also said that given the huge uncertainties at present, it is still too early to calculate the possible impact of the tariff policies on Spain. The Spanish government will meet with the sectors affected by the tariff policies to discuss the potential impacts.
After a plenary meeting on the 8th, the Spanish government approved a series of decrees in response to the US tariff measures, and will mobilize a total of 14.1 billion euros in funds to mitigate the impact of the trade war launched by the US.
