Japan's Stance on Security and Tariff Issues

On the 21st, a Japanese official stated in a meeting of the Budget Committee of the House of Councillors that security issues should not be linked to Japan-US tariff negotiations. Regarding the issue of the cost of US troops stationed in Japan, another official pointed out that Japan has already borne a large amount of related expenses, yet the US side still deems it "insufficient". Although the Japanese side claims that these are two different issues from tariffs, the US side has mixed them up.
