On February 25, a South Korean airliner originally scheduled to fly from Busan to Okinawa, Japan, made an emergency return during take - off due to an explosion sound from the engine area.
According to reports, when the plane took off at Gimhae International Airport in Busan that morning, there was a loud abnormal noise from the engine area. Out of safety concerns, the decision was made to return. Subsequently, the plane circled in the air for about an hour and a half to reduce the landing weight and landed safely at Gimhae Airport.
Some passengers on the plane said that they heard explosion sounds several times during take - off, and another passenger said, "I saw flames near the wing in mid - air."
